Well, looks like we lost a couple of people from the game. Thats too bad, since I thought this sessions went rather well considering the rough start we had dealing with no-shows. Oh well, as long as everyone wants to keep this going, I'll keep running. Like I said, I have a grand plan I'd like to arch into for the overall theme of the campaign.
So, this last session, you've surmised that the undead that attacked you on the road at the end of last session were not acting independently. There is definitely some unseen intelligence driving them. That attack was clearly an ambush of some sort. Set up to look like travelers camping at some road-side camp site to lure in unsuspecting travelers. Once the travelers get too close, the skeletons spring out to add to the attack. You've dealt with that without some difficulty, but Dala was seriously shaken by the incident and Pchelka was severely wounded.
During the night, the party encountered the travelling explorer Lantis, who claims he is searching the area for something called the Prophecies of Ezerus which were, according to him, buried with Elias Brody on the Catacombs of Kethmere Field. Although not fully trusting the newcomer, given the circumstances, you decide that you stand a better chance as a group and team up to enter the Catacombs together.
The first little while in the catacombs is enough to tell you that the place is riddled with traps as well as undead. Its best to be cautious from here on out.
The game is FINALLY getting off to its real core material at this point. The dangers will increase, but so will the rewards. Sadly, given the location, there won't be too much opportunity for role-play unless you see to it yourself. The dead just aren't that talkative it seems.
We should get though quite a bit of material next game since there won't be too much role-playing going on (again, because of the location). The events transpiring around you may finally start to make some sense from here on out. Just beware of traps.
